Yes, it’s another episode of ShawnWatch here on PortTownGirl.

Marshawn Lynch is having a busy off season. Beast Mode is popping up everywhere and I am having the best time watching him. He is making a long hot summer a lot cooler.

And what is cooler than watching Lynch do his famous backward dive into a big, bunch of Skittles. That is exactly what he did the other night on Conan. I like this much better than watching him lift giant weights filled with the candy.

Here’s the clip.

In case you don’t know what Lynch’s connection to Skittles is, his mom used to give them to him when he was “just a jitterbug” to settle his stomach. Mama Lynch also told him they would make him strong and they later became to be known as his “power pellets”. The punishing NFL superstar running back for the Seattle Seahawks still eats a handful of Skittles during games to calm his tummy.

ESPN covers the story best.

Lynch was gentlemanly when asked by Conan if he was surprised he wasn’t handed the ball to run for the touchdown needed to win the Seattle Seahawks back to back Super Bowls.

“Yes I was,” Lynch said. “But at the same time, I’ve been in this situation before. I play a team sport. At the end of the day, I can’t be mad about the situation. I’m good with it, though, to be honest.”

You can watch the entire Conan episode here. It is deluxe.

Favorite quote: “As long as you don’t pocket watch me, I won’t pocket watch you.” — Marshawn Lynch referring to retirement from professional football.
