Amazing dog sanctuary in Costa Rica

I love this. Bravo. When I first glanced at the picture however I admit my first thought was, oh no, what is this? A canine version of running with the bulls? I am uplifted to see this is about kindness and caring. But I also see I need to do work on not taking a jaded view.

Stray dogs run at the dog sanctuary Territorio de Zaguates, or 'Land of the Strays,' in Carrizal de Alajuela, Costa Rica. Fed, groomed and cared for by vets, more than 750 dogs rescued from the streets of Costa Rica inhabit the pooch paradise. The sanctuary is funded by donations. About 8,000 dogs have passed through the refuge. There are more than a million stray dogs in Costa Rica, where the government outlawed putting animals down in 2003. Juan Carlos Ulate / Reuters.
